I would be afraid if I were you
[filtered to Seras :: difficult to hack] I regret not being able to show you around the ship myself, Seras. I trust you found someone to show you the artillery? This ship is state-of-the-art; I think you'll find the weaponry to your liking.

When are you free from duties? It's been far too long since we spoke. Perhaps you'd like to meet me for... a cup of tea.

I cannot take this silence any longer. I need a new channel of information. One off-ship. Any worthy allies I might find here have too great a chance of being infiltrated or against me to begin with, and I have no time. Seras' arrival is a blessed relief; but even with one here to trust, I have no means of procuring information.

Damn them, taking Walter's position. Sealing Alucard away. I'd give another dozen ranks to have either of them here.

srs bzns
I find I regret my reassignment more with each passing day.

Distant screams are nothing new, but their frequency on a ship supposedly under tight command unsettles me. Obviously it was insubordination. Obviously it was dealt with. I will not inquire after the methods, but considering that this is the second rebellion that required the Admiral's personal attention since my reassignment, I believe his hold over this ship to be slipping. I wonder indeed how long it has been slipping. A man in true command does not require force to gain loyalty.

I must remember that my loyalty lies with Ivona, not with the Admiral. So long as his ship serves Ivona I am under his command; but reassignment be damned, if he loses control I will no longer look to him as a superior. I do wonder what Edgeworth and his daughter will do should they be forced to choose a side; I hope I can determine it before something happens to put our backs to the wall.

I would feel more confident had I Hellsing to back me, but it's failing without me. Seras' being here says more than any information from the Melior outpost could have, even if it still existed. Alucard thinks I need a protector. It follows that he thinks that there is something I need to be protected from. I trust his judgment, but his continued silence is infuriating. Something will happen, but I have no way of discovering what.

This whole ship bears watching. One thing about the undead - they never muntinied. Altogether easier to deal with.

Considering that we are even now finishing clearing the rubble of the recent skirmish with those damned spiders, is there really time to be baking birthday cakes for every crewman intelligent enough to remember what day he was born?

Bloody waste of time.

[private :: semi-hackable]
Little buggers hid my cigars in the crew's locker. I'm not touching them. Heaven knows what's been on them. The shop in Melior that sold them looked like Alucard went through it with a flame cannon after the attack. Bugger it all.

Should any crewmember of the Victoria II ever make a public post so disgraceful, the punishment will be swift and involve loss of limbs.

That is all.
I would be afraid if I were you
Before I leave the ship for Melior, sir, I would like to bring to your attention to the possibility of a traitor on the Victoria II. The timing of the bombings, as well as the recent attempts at mutiny, suggests to me that they were part of a conspiracy, enacted by agents who may still be on board. Hence the security of this message.

Having been here only as long as I have, I have no suspicions as to the culprit's identity. In Melior, I intend to try to contact the Hellsing Organization for further information. I do not trust most of the crew in this, frankly; even those with innocent intentions could spill something vital far too easily.

I would appreciate your confidence in this matter, sir; treason is a heavy crime against Ivona, and a personal blow to this ship.
I would be afraid if I were you
With the captain's permission, I will be taking my shore leave at the first available opportunity.

[private]
Heaven knows if the Organization's outpost in Melior has been disbanded in my absence. Either way, I need to contact Walter about this. If the manor was bombed, I damn well want to know about it.

Perhaps I can find some way to get into the information network. There's little enough hope, but it's worth the attempt.

batshit and bloody
[the sounds of battle are slightly fainter where she is, a little behind the front lines, but gunfire is almost loud enough to interfere with the message. Not quite loud enough, though, because she is in Full Command Mode now.]

Ground forces! There are men bitten at the front line. The northeast barricade needs reinforcements. Do not - I repeat, do NOT engage them in close combat! They will not recoil, they will not die if you do not completely destroy the head, and they will never stop coming for you!

Right now we're most pressed for time. They will not stop moving forward. Two ranks - one to incapacitate them, the other to eliminate them. Flame, gunfire, explosives, anything that will put them on the ground and unable even to crawl forward will be of use. A head shot is easier on a non-moving target. Do NOT waste ammunition on anything but a head shot!

[the moans of the zombies grow audible]

Move out! Now!
smoking gun
Captain von Karma, I am requesting permission to take control of the ground forces. These things, as you have no doubt discovered, have no will and cannot be defeated like human forces. Rest assured that anyone fighting them uninformed will die a hideously painful death and rise shortly after to join their ranks, provided they have enough flesh left to drag themselves at their former crewmembers. Fortunately, they are something of a specialty of mine.

Those of you already engaged, in the air or on the ground: Nothing short of a head shot will kill them. Do not touch infected flesh. Do not engage them at close quarters. Should any one of you be fool enough to do so, your crewmembers will be ordered to shoot you, hopefully before you are devoured alive.

The last time this happened, I failed with a full garrison of trained monster hunters. I can't imagine how many of this sentimental group we'll lose before they realize that there is no saving them.

Well, then, come on, you bloody bastards. I'm sure there's a few tattered Hellsing uniforms among you, and you've got a few hundred lives to answer to me for.

And again. She hasn't been around long, but she considers it her business to form impressions of people working around her, so I should have something to say for most!

I will assume Lt. Commander Hijikata's duties in his absence. Continue to work on repairs until we arrive in Claiborne.

[a distant explosion, followed by the clunk of something hard nearby hitting the wall - she's picked up a substantial chunk of table as a shield]

For God's sake, if you hear beeping do not try to find and disable the thing before it stops! If you can't get it at least twenty feet away from you, get the hell away from it! That's an order!

All crew should be at their stations, awaiting further orders.

You are Ivonan soldiers. Do not provide any further reasons to doubt your loyalty.

And dissenters would do well to remember that the penalty for insubordination in the face of crisis is left to the officers' discretion. Think of your officers before you decide to act rashly.

This is the jewel in the Navy's crown? I would have expected better of a ship under the command of a von Karma. Where in the chain of command does the incompetence begin? Where does it end?

I'm beginning to think I don't want to know.

Captain von Karma, I have arrived on the ship. I am on the upper deck and await your orders.

[brief pause; sound of an exhalation]

To the crew: I am Sir Integral Hellsing, your most recently appointed boatswain. I expect to find this ship well-disciplined, from its reputation; I'll see for myself when I acquaint myself with it shortly.
